Pumpkin Spice Sauce
Makes about 1 litre
Ingredients
- 1/2 can (796ml) pure pumpkin puree (or make your own!)
- 1 tablespoon pumpkin spice mix (cinnamon, nutmeg, allspice or mace, and ginger)
- 1/2 cup white sugar
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 1 cup water
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Equipment
- Small pot
- Wooden spoon
- Fine mesh sieve
- Measuring spoons
- Measuring cups
- Can opener
Directions
Whisk together the sugar, salt, and water. Bring to a simmer over medium heat for 5 minutes, until the sugar has dissolved. Whisk in the pumpkin puree, pumpkin spice mix and vanilla until smooth.
Strain through a fine mesh sieve if desired.
Allow to cool. The sauce can be stored in the fridge for one week or frozen for one year.
Pumpkin Spice Latte
Ingredients
- 8 oz Milk, or dairy alternative of choice
- 1 tablespoon Pumpkin sauce
- 2 shots of espresso
- Pumpkin spice blend for topping
- Whipped cream (optional)
- Caramel sauce (optional)

Directions
Scoop the desired amount of pumpkin sauce into a preheated mug or latte cup. If using a Saeco automatic espresso machine, place the cup under the coffee spout.
Find the latte or macchiato option and adjust it to your personal specifications. Allow the machine to do the magic!
If you don’t have an espresso machine, you too can enjoy the beauty of pumpkin spice at home! Brew some strong coffee using your preferred method. Heat some milk over medium heat and stir together with your espresso mixture. Top with whip cream and a little sprinkle of pumpkin spice!
