How to Make S’mores on the BBQ

S’mores are a nostalgic favourite that a lot of people look forward to every year while camping; crispy, crinkly, gooey marshmallows over a fire, sandwiched between two graham crackers with a not-fully-melted chunk of Dairy Milk. As summer is nearing an end (sigh, we hate to say it) there may still be some lingering cravings for s’mores but no campfire insight. Don’t worry - we are going to tell you how to make s’more on the bbq in this blog post!

How to Make S’mores on the BBQ

Ingredients

Here’s what you need to make s’mores on the bbq:

  • Graham crackers

  • Large marshmallows

  • Chocolate of choice

Equipment

To make s’mores on the bbq, you will need the following equipment:

Directions

  • Heat your bbq to 400F. We used a Broil King Regal 490!

  • Use the BBQ as a fire source, skewer the marshmallows and hold over the flames to roast them. One of the challenges of roasting marshmallows is the chance they will loosen and spin every time to try to flip them. A dual-prong skewer, like the ones from Broil King, work wonders for this because it allows you to evenly brown marshmallows without the risk! If you’re feeling fancy and want to make your own, try this easy recipe!

  • Place your graham crackers on the upper rack of the bbq to warm through while the marshmallows roast.

  • Add a square or two of your chocolate of choice in the last 30 seconds of grilling.

  • Remove the graham crackers with a metal spatula to a cutting board when the chocolate just begins to melt. Use a second graham cracker to slide the toasted marshmallow from the skewer and sandwich closed. (check out our video for details!)

Switch up your chocolate options with your favourite chocolate bar. Peanut butter Cups, Mint chocolate squares, salted caramel chocolate - the possibilities are endless! Or if you want to make your own, try out our recipe here.

We know sitting around a campfire hits different, but you can still bring the experience home using your favourite grill. Enjoy the ooey gooey goodness of s’mores on your bbq!
